Oakmont Golf Course

This club, which has been established as a National Historic Landmark, is famous for hosting many national championships, including the National Amateur, the PGA Championship, and seven U.S. Opens. Oakmont gained additional notoriety for its "furrowed" bunkers during the 1973 U.S. Open. Johnny Miller established the U.S. Open eighteen hole record with a 63 in the final round in 1973, regarded by some as the finest round of golf ever played. Hole #1 was voted the tour's most difficult hole by PGA of America.

Course Information

  • Course designed by Henry Fownes, opened in 1903
  • 76.8 rating/144 slope
  • 7229 total yards from championship tees
  • 18 holes, Par 71
