Wolf is played with 4 players where each player takes a turn being the "Wolf." The Wolf always tees off first, then after all players have teed off, the Wolf gets a chance to select a partner for that hole. If s/he elects NOT to choose a partner for the hole, the Wolf plays solo against the other 3 players. Once the teams have been decided, the 2 teams play Bestball to determine the winner of the hole. The money for that hole is divided equally to all members of the winning team. After each hole the next player gets their turn to be Wolf. On the 17th and 18th holes, the player who is in last place gets additional turns to be Wolf.

Whoever's drive is selected on the 1st hole will tee off on the odd numbered holes while the partner will tee off on the even holes. The team that wins the most holes wins the match. If you play by the book, that is hit the fairway off the tee, hit the green in regulation, 2-putt or better and hit pars or birdies, you'll do just fine. Whatever you do, DON'T 3-putt or you'll lose any points you won for the hole, but that's nothing. If you hit worse than a 3-putt you lose it all, EVERY point you ever had, gone, bye-bye, see you later. The player at the end of the round with the most points gets $2500.

If the same player won the next hole, he/she would go "2 Up." In Nassau, there are 3 "matches." The 1st match is the Front 9 holes, the player who won the most holes on the Front 9 wins $2, the 2nd match, the Back 9 holes is worth another $2. The player with the most holes won overall wins an additional $2.
